Qatar had already qualified for the third round of FIFA 2026 but still playing such a poor game shows the level of their game. This was the last chance for India to go to the third round of qualification, but Qatar has knocked India out of the qualification race with this poor game.

The other team to qualify from Group A is Kuwait which beat Afghanistan 1-0 on 11 June and qualified for the next round by overtaking India to finish second. Qatar has dashed India’s hopes of playing in FIFA.

Football fans in India are very disappointed and are criticizing the Qatari players. The match saw very poor refereeing and hence the referees and FIFA are being criticised. However, fans are raising questions about the way the timing of the match was set.
