RCB vs Delhi Capital Women, WPL 2024 Finals: Women Premier League has reached its final stage and we have got two finalists for this 2024 season, Delhi which has already reached the final, our other finalist is Royal Challengers Bangalore. This match will be played on Sunday, March 17 at 7:30 pm IST, the final of the Women’s Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.


Yesterday Royal Challengers Bangalore Women created history as it will play the final of the Franchise League after 2016, last time the men’s team played the 2016 final against Sunrisers Hyderabad in which RCB lost by 9 runs. Now the women’s team has made its place in the final.

RCB Women won their opening match yesterday against MI Women by 5 runs and secured their place in the final. In yesterday’s match, RCB won the toss and after winning the toss, decided to bat.

RCB Women’s batting started faltering in the beginning, Smriti Mandhana the captain scored only 10 runs after playing 7 balls and then Ellyse Perry took charge of the innings and scored 66 runs in 50 balls, with this the team scored 135 runs. Now MI Women’s 136 runs were needed to win.

MI Women’s got off to a good start scoring 27 runs in almost 4 overs and the first wicket fell in 3.5 overs, captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 33 runs in 30 balls, the team needed 12 runs to win in the last over but MI Failed to score runs and scored only 6 runs after losing one wicket in the last over and the team lost by 5 runs. Ellyse Perry became the women’s player of the match as she scored valuable 66 runs and also took 1 wicket for the team.

After winning the playoff match, RCB is the last time finalist Delhi Capitals Women. Ellyse Perry has been an important player for RCB as she played an important inning of 40 runs against MI to make it to the play-offs and also did wonders by taking 6 wickets with the bowling. This season, Ellyse Perry had a bowling strike rate of 4.00 which is the best among the players, and also he has the best bowling as he took 6/15 wickets against MI. Richa Ghosh is known for her explosive batting, this season she has scored 240 runs with a strike rate of 210, while Georgia Wareham has scored runs for RCB with a strike rate of 218. Asha Shobhana, the highest wicket taker for RCB, has taken 10 wickets so far. To get the Purple Cap, she needs only two wickets. However, this is not certain because Delhi bowler Manijanane is the cup’s top wicket taker.

Last year’s finalist Delhi Capitals has also reached the finals this season, this time Delhi had got the ticket for the direct finals because this time the team had finished the group stage match on top. Delhi has become a team which has made its place in the finals of WPL twice in a row. Batting against MI in the 2023 final, they scored 131 runs after losing 9 wickets. In reply, MI registered their name in history by scoring 134 runs after losing 3 wickets.

Team captain Meg Lanning has scored the most runs in the Delhi Capitals team, with 308 runs and is in the race to get the Orange Cap, while from her team, Shafali Verma has scored 265 runs in 9 innings, while Jemimah Rodrigues has scored 235 runs, and Alice Capsey has scored 230 runs.

While bowling for Delhi, Marizanne Kapp has not made any mistake so far and is the top wicket taker this season and is the purple cap holder, having taken 11 wickets in 8 matches so far. Jess Jonassen has taken 11 wickets and just one wicket behind Jonassen is Radha Yadav who has taken 10 wickets so far. Delhi is in great form this season only because of its bowlers.
