KL Rahul ruled out of final Test against England due to injury

India vs England 5th test squad: In a shock for cricket fans and for the Indian cricket team, middle-order batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the upcoming fifth and final Test against England. The news was confirmed by the BCCI today through an official statement, revealing that Rahul is not yet fit due to the quadriceps injury he suffered during the first Test in Hyderabad.

The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring Rahul’s fitness, working in coordination with experts in London to manage his treatment. The severity of the injury has sidelined Rahul, making his participation in the final Test in Dharamshala impossible.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Return, Washington Sundar Released for Ranji Trophy Semifinal

The Indian team has got strength from the return of senior fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah to the team. Bumrah, who was rested for the fourth Test in Ranchi, is set to join the team in Dharamsala for the series finale. His return is expected to strengthen the bowling attack as India look to maintain their dominance in the series having already won the series 3-1.

The BCCI statement also revealed that spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has been released from the Indian team. Sundar will rejoin his Ranji Trophy team, Tamil Nadu, for the crucial semi-final clash against Mumbai starting on March 2, 2024. The talented cricketer is expected to return to the national team after the completion of the domestic matches, if he can be called upon whenever the team requires him. ,

Shami’s Successful Ankle Surgery

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami had ankle surgery on 26 February. Shami, a key member of the Indian bowling unit, is reportedly recovering well. The fast bowler will soon head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation process.

The absence of KL Rahul, who has been a reliable middle-order contributor, will undoubtedly be a challenge for the Indian team. The right-handed batsman has shown his skills with the bat on several occasions and his absence will force the team management to look for alternative options.

The good thing is, the return of Jasprit Bumrah is expected to provide a significant boost to the bowling department. Known for his ability to perform well under pressure, Bumrah’s return is timely, especially with the final Test approaching.

As the cricket world eagerly awaits the series finale in Dharamsala on March 7, the dynamics of the Indian team will be closely scrutinized. Fans are hopeful of a speedy recovery for KL Rahul and are looking forward to an exciting encounter as India aim to finish the series against England on a high.
