East Bengal FC kept themselves alive for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 play-offs, defeating Kerala Blasters 2-4 at home at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.

East Bengal FC Climbs to Seventh Place with Victory, Breaking Three-Game Losing Streak

With this win, East Bengal has moved to seventh place in the points table and has broken the streak of three consecutive defeats. East Bengal achieved a thrilling win against Kerala Blasters FC after an embarrassing defeat against Mohun Bagan.

Although there was no change for Kerala Blasters in the points table, they still remain at fifth position with 30 points. With this victory, East Bengal has reached seventh place with 21 points.

East Bengal started the match on a positive note with Sion striking early with a cross drive. On the other hand, Vukomanovic’s team Kerala Blasters played with some patience and patience.

Kerala Blasters Take Early Lead, but East Bengal Bounces Back for Draw

The first goal for Kerala Blasters came in the form of Fedor Cernych in the 23rd minute. In the last minute of the match, East Bengal scored its fourth goal which came in the form of Mahesh in the 87th minute. In this match, the match was played against the new players in Kerala Blasters.

Kerala Blasters had to pay the price of two red cards with the defeat. Kerala Blasters’ next match is against NorthEast United on 06 April, while East Bengal’s next match is against Bengaluru FC on 07 April.
