Indian Super League (ISL) side, Odisha FC on Wednesday confirmed the departure of winger, Laishram Premjit Singh from the club ahead of the upcoming season of the ISL.
The 20-year-old who started his career at Manipur club TRAU FC in 2019, played nine games for the club in the I-League, post which his performances caught the attention of the scouts of Odisha – with the club signing him in 2020.
The winger however struggled to make an impact at Odisha, managing to make only six appearances for them, with the club deciding to cut their losses and let go of the youngster. This would come as a big blow to the player, considering that he was very highly rated at the time of his signing with club president, Rohan Sharma excited at the potential of the then 18-year-old.
“Premjit is a player who has an extremely bright future and if he can play to his potential, he can be another winger in the same vein as Jerry for the squad. Though only 18, his speed is impressive. We hope to develop him further in the next four years for him to become another winger with blistering pace in our squad,” Sharma said at the time.
Odisha FC have already announced numerous departures during the off-season. That includes Javi Hernandez, Gaurav Bora, Narender Gahlot, and Daniel Lalhimupia.
