The Indian football team saw a rise by two spots to 104 in the latest national team rankings released by FIFA.
This ranking means the Blue Tigers are now one place below New Zealand (103) who lost the chance to qualify for the FIFA World Cup earlier in June.
From an Asian point of view, India still remain 19th in their rank among the 23 AFC nations with Iran ranking top.
India enjoyed an incredible AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign as they won all three of their games to top their group and secure their spot as one of the 24 final participants of the showpiece tournament in 2023.
Speaking of the top nations, Argentina made a jump to the third spot in the rankings with Spain and Netherlands too gaining up a spot.
